Calling Windows

SITUATION #1:

If called for an extra YARD JOB outside of calling windows in a situation resulting from other than a storm, flood, fire or wreck, your time/pay will commence at the end of the previous starting time window. Rule 51(j) states: " Except in case of emergency, extra yardmen required to work an extra yard engine starting between 8:00 AM and 2:30 PM, 4:00 PM and 10:30 PM, and 12:00 midnight to 6:30 AM, will start their time at 8:00 AM, 4:00 PM, or 12:00 midnight, as the case may be".

Required Documentation:

• A copy of your complete tie-up from the shift in which you were called outside of calling windows.

• A copy of your denied non-service claim.

EXAMPLE:

Was assigned to the    (circ-7)     (board id)  on    (date)   . At  (time) hrs, was called to work the  (yard job id)  on duty for    (time) hrs. Claiming adjustment of starting time to  (time from end of previous calling window) hrs per Rule 51(j).

SITUATION #2:

If called off a yard board to cover a ROAD VACANCY outside of calling windows, a basic day penalty should be claimed for violation of Rule 51, as there is no provision to call a road job off an exclusive yard board outside of calling windows.

• A copy of your complete tie-up from the shift in which you were called outside of calling windows.

• A copy of your denied non-service claim.

Sample Language:

Was assigned to the    (circ-7)     (board id)  on    (date)   . At  (time) hrs, was called to work the  (road job id)  on duty for    (time) hrs. Claiming basic day penalty for violation of Rule 51.
