COMBINING PORTLAND EXTRA BOARD

Hazlett Dear Sir: This refers to Carrier's original notice dated December 21, 2004, and subsequent letter dated February 7, 2005; conceming Carrier's intent to combine the UP 1st and 2nd District extra boards at Portland in accordance with Article IV B (1) of the Portland Hub Zone 1 Merger Implementing Agreement. The UP 1st and 2nd District extra boards at Portland were combined effective 8:00 a.m. on April 19, 2005. As a result of the combining of the extra boards, the Carrier elected to retain the Guaranteed Extra Board provisions of the UP 2nd District, with the following amendment "Trainmen will be called on duty two (2) hours as near as practicable before being required to report for duty. The calling hours will not be considered as on duty." If you are agreeable to the foregoing, please so indicate by signing in the space provided below.
